As the lead graphic designer at Catan Studio, I was responsible for redesigning the game catalog booklet, which required a balance between creativity and functionality. My goal was to produce a 20-page booklet that would inform and inspire the customers of our expanding product line of more than 35 products.

To achieve this, I conducted user research and discovered a lack of awareness of the Catan game expansions, extensions, their connection to each other, and the extensive library of games available. To address these issues, I expanded the core family section of the booklet to four pages that explained the basics, added a cover and back cover to improve the catalog's retention value, and developed a clean and simple design with prominent images that showcased our products.

Through multiple iterations and feedback sessions, I developed a robust design that stayed true to the brand while addressing our most significant paint points. Additionally, I coordinated with partners to include ads that aligned with the new catalog's direction and created a versatile layout guide that provided a customizable foundation for the catalog's yearly additions.

 

The result was a successful redesign that exceeded expectations, contributing to the overall success of Catan's marketing efforts.
